Query by Kevin: Can you not play a Division III NCAA sport with out Overall health Insurance?
Hello there, I’m hoping to be a part of the Men’s Volleyball group at my university. They are a Division III staff, and I was about to head to the health-related screening for clearance. I want to know if you are not able to participate in a Division III sport without having well being insurance policy. I told the group mentor I am not underneath any medical insurance coverage prepare, and he told me he was uncertain if I would be allowed to exercise or if the college would even go by way of with the screening. I am even now a dependent, so I am relying on my dad finding a health-related strategy by way of his function. I do get weekly upgrades from the coach inquiring if I can arrive in, but the difficulty is I cannot just whip up some paperwork in one day and immediately be blanketed for health care insurance coverage the next day. Thanks for the help!

Sorry I never have an specific response but I am not confident any person here will have an solution for you.
Call THE NCAA ELIGIBILITY Centre AT one-877-262-1492
Question them. That is what your coach really should have carried out weeks in the past. Shame on him.
Some guesses as to what the answer may be:
My school compelled Every complete time pupil to have health insurance policy on enrollment. They instantly gave absolutely everyone a school offered insurance policy strategy (at a price), and if you confirmed proof of one more program, then they would cancel the university insurance policy.
That said, I believe there are two possible answers. The initial is obvious. You would basically need insurance policy to perform an NCAA sport. The second feasible answer is that your teams payment to be a member of the NCAA also handles insurance coverage to the athletes.
In honesty, I would wager that NCAA has an insurance coverage coverage developed into membership dues though I would do some more analysis. Once again, give them a phone.
